[MediaWiki-l] Please allow folks to use Gerrit GitHub

#1

This makes no sense (from
https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/g/mediawiki/extensions/ConfirmEdit):

# cd mediawiki/extensions
# git clone ssh://gerrit.wikimedia.org:29418/mediawiki/extensions/ConfirmEdit
Cloning into 'ConfirmEdit'...
Permission denied (publickey).
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

It seems Gerrit assumes you have a Gerrit account with an SSH key that
matches one in your SSH agent.
If not, you can use URLs like this instead:
git clone
https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/mediawiki/extensions/ConfirmEdit.git

#3

Thanks. Seems to hang after "Cloning into 'ConfirmEdit'...".

Jeff

#4

# git clone ssh://gerrit.wikimedia.org/mediawiki/extensions/ConfirmEdit
Cloning into 'ConfirmEdit'...

ssh: connect to host gerrit.wikimedia.org port 22: Connection timed out
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights

#5

Please copy+paste my URL. There is no ssh in it.

See https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T189182 for that problem.

See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Download_from_Git for instructions.

I do not know why "GitHub" is mentioned in the email subject.
This has nothing to do with Github?
